"One of the most original singer-songwriters I have heard recently... I'll be doing what we should all do when we hear or see great art... I'll be shouting her praise from the rooftops"

  STAV.

  @soundofstav

'Young Artist of the Year' 2018-19

Introspective and playful, multilingual singer-songwriter STAV. continues her story of migration with soaring melodies and bursts of rhythmic fire. An expressive voice playing as one instrument with her guitar, she has a compelling ability to tell a story in song in English, Hebrew and French. She was born in Israel, grew up in a small town in Australia and is now based in Melbourne city. Blurring the lines between singing and spoken word, STAV. is totally at home on stage, solo and with her band.

Since releasing her debut album 'The Horizon Line' (2016), she has performed in Canada, Spain, France, Israel and at the major folk festivals across Australia.

Live performance brings this songwriter's introspection, playfulness and raw passion to life.

Her debut album 'The Horizon Line' (2016) is a bold and heartfelt coming-of-age concept album about finding permission to speak between worlds.

Her recent single 'Weakening, Awakening' was premiered on Triple J in 2018 and her newest single 'Poison Remedy' was reviewed by HappyMag as "truly unique and captivating". The project toured Canada for the month of February, including the Folk Alliance International conference represented by Sounds Australia and is performing at Woodford, Port Fairy, The Blue Mountains and The National Folk Festival this year.
